The students are able to analyse and interprete the sources on their own. They can put the new information into a wider context.

General conspectus of Pythagoras and Pythagoreanism, analysis of comparable characters in Graeco-Roman antiquity (e.g. 'Seven Sages', Empedocles, Apollonios of Tyana). Introduction to working with the available sources, examiniation of selected examples. Discussion of sources and representations to certain 'wise' men of antiquity, critical confrontation with scholars' research.

Lecture, analysis of sources, students' presentations, discussion
