Having attended this course, students should be able to understand and analyse Latin inscriptions. Moreover specific knowledge of Roman history should be gained.

Working with Latin inscriptions. The main focus will be on Roman inscriptions of the territory of today’s Austria.

 

 

Firstly the various categories of Latin inscriptions will be presented. After that basic Latin inscriptions will be read, translated and discussed.

 

 

Active participation of students and oral presentations

Due to substantial differences in the allocation of ECTS-Credits in various curricula, the requirements for this course vary. Information will be provided by the instructor at the beginning of the course.
