Students get a basic overview about gender and ethnicity in Greek and Roman history. They also acquire skills for analyzing ancient literature from a historical point of view.

Ancients perspecitves on feminity, manliness, ethnicity are discussed on basic of ancient literature (in translation) an of research literature.

Lecture, possibilty for discussion

Written test at the end of the term.

Will be announced in class.
