Critical reflection of the state of research in regard to the 'Ambraser Heldenbuch'; application to a specific question in the field of literary studies or linguistics. Analysis of literary texts or linguistic phenomena. Insights into digital humanities.

In the seminar, the manuscript of the so-called "Ambraser Heldenbuch" (Vienna, Österr. Nationalbibl., Cod. Ser. nova 2663) and the texts it contains will be analysed. Furthermore we will explore the possibilities which 'digital humanities' offer and will try to automatically transcribe and annotate parts of the manuscript.

Oral papers, group discussion, professor's lecture, joint work with the "Transkribus"-software.

Presentation, written paper, oral and written contributions in class, tentative transcription of a section of the manuscript.
