will be announced
The participants in my Greek seminar Aeschylus, Agamemnon, are asked to prepare verses 1-103 for the first session, including the metric (is simple, but must be). Please practice the loud reading!
Recommended for purchase:
a) for the Agamemnon: David Raeburn / Oliver Thomas, The Agamemnon of Aeschylus (the issue is that of Page, the comm. of the two, unfortunately, almost exclusively takes into account English-language literature, but is very helpful especially for language and metric; Decisions are often unfortunate)
b) b) for the Oresteia as a whole: Vincenzo Di Benedetto and others, Eschilo, Orestea, Milan 1995 (one of the popular and inexpensive BUR volumes, but the comm. is already very scarce)
To staging: unfortunately, both volumes go from the now really unacceptable theory of an early round Orchestra
