Development of sensibility for literary text and for translation strategies

Contents:

Theoretical and practical introduction to the translation of literary texts.

There will be dealt specific problems of literary translation like the translation of puns, metaphors, style etc.

Methods:

The course will involve working both individually and in groups, and the presentation of results.

Assessment:

There will be a continuous evaluation through homework assignments.

Literature:

Reference lists and source texts will be distributed either in digital format or in hard copy.

Prerequisites:

Diploma students wishing to participate in the course must have successfully completed the 2^nd diploma exam; master's students must already hold a bachelor's degree.
