Students acquire the instruments for understanding and evaluating different sources and media. They use their competences in critical use of media and sources and are able to use their source-critical skills for developing own questions.

Oral histories and eyewitness-accounts are at the centre of the course because they have become one of the main instruments for representing and mediating history. Imparting of basic competences in source and media studies as well as competences in the field of archives, documentation, collections and museums and critical use for studying originals and reproductions.

Lecture, oral presentation with handouts, short seminar papers, teacher´s lecture

Course with continuous performance assessment: attendance at all sessions, regular and active participation in discussions (oral and written), oral presentation with handout, short seminar papers
