Examination of the historical sites of the dissolution of the Habsburg Monarchy and the foundation of the Austrian Republic, their relevant objects and contexts of public memory. Haus der Geschichte Niederösterreichischs, Haus der Geschichte Österreich, Lower Austrian Diet, monuments along the Ringstraße and Heldenplatz; Bundeskanzleramt and Haus-, Hof und Staatsarchiv and finally a visit to Schloss Eckartsau (last residence of Karl I. before he left the country)
Presentations of the course instructor and other local experts, preparation of historical material about the visited places.

The excursion takes place from November 20th – 23rd, 2018. The attendance of the corresponding course 645.213 is mandatory.
