Introductory Psychology is well suited for a study aboard experience in Innsbruck. Many students will experience a wide range of transformative events during the summer program. Learning fundamental psychological principals within an introductory psychology course may help students make sense of how their worldviews and sense of identities are changing throughout the program.

This course is designed to give students a broad overview of the many different perspectives and theoretical models from which psychologists try to understand human behavior, thought, emotions and functioning. By the end of this course, students will be familiar with several perspectives: biological, clinical, cognitive, developmental, personality, social, and abnormal psychology. Topics that relate to culture, social behavior and worldviews will be incorporated to make the class more relevant to studying abroad. This course is appropriate for those who are interested in an introductory course for the field of psychology.

The Dachau field trip is required for students in this course.
