We will do a research project to a subject referring to the compulsary moduls of the curriculum (§ 5 Abs. 2 Z. 5 bis 8). The students will learn to design and conduct an empirical sociological research project (see curriculum).

In the course of the seminar, the students will make their own ethnographic explorations within occupational contexts of accompaniment whereas a comprehensive ethnography is not expected, with its characteristic plurality of methods ethnography rather forms the framework of the individual research projects. The students have - according to their respective questions - the opportunity to pick out individual methods. In principle, explorative interviews, observation protocols, audiovisually recording procedures are conceivable. The data collected is then to be analyzed independently. In addition, the seminar will focus on questions of access to research fields as well as reflection on the methods used and possible problems associated with them.
