The aim of this course is to produce translations of cultural texts of different technical degrees. The translations have to be functional and adequate for this text type. Students will also develop translation strategies by using tools such as dictionaries and other research options. In addition to that students will learn basic terminology and how to obtain informative material.

Specialized texts in in the field of technology. Approach to textual genre in turn presented, background information. Translation strategies and use of parallel texts. Topic: Energy Transition.

Interactive practice-orientated lessons. Group work, discussing the translations prepared at home, comparing and discussing different suggestions

Written tests

Reading lists and course materials will be provided in class or electronically.

In order to attend this course, students need to have passed the complete 2^nd diploma examination or have completed the bachelor’s degree.

For organizational reasons attendance in the first class is mandatory.
