- Development of sensibility for literary text and for translation strategies

 - Understanding the specific problems of literary translation

- Dealing with specific questions of literary translation, such as the reproduction of puns, metaphors and other stylistic elements.

Theoretical and practical introduction to the translation of literary texts.

There will be dealt specific problems of literary translation like the translation of puns, metaphors, style etc.

The course will involve working both individually and in groups, and the presentation of results.

- Assessment takes place continuously on the basis of homework as well as both a mid-term and a final written test.

Reference lists and source texts will be distributed either in digital format or in hard copy.

- Interest in literary translation

Diploma students wishing to participate in the course must have successfully completed the 2^nd diploma exam; master's students must already hold a bachelor's degree.

„Before completing the entrance and orientation phase of studies (StEOP) students may not acquire more than 30 ECTS points overall.”

Due to some external appointments, the course might not take place weekly. The lessons will be made up in consultation with the students.
