Familiarity with late medieval methods of interpretation. You will learn some Italian as a matter of course but will not be tested for this.

Influences of pagan and christian texts of Classical antiquity on one of the most influential texts of the european middle ages. Knowledge of Latin is mandatory, Greek and Italian are useful but not absolutely necessary.

Lecture modelled on the lectura Dantis Italian style.

Written exam.

 

On a special shelf in the library plus a selection of articles deposited in a field in Ms Steixner's bureau.
