The students can give an overview on several aspects of mountain regions, its research and its change.
The lecture presents several aspects of mountain research, among others terminology, issues, history of mountain research, environmental aspects (e.g. glaciers, alpine permafrost, treeline), monitoring systems, Global Change, economy, recording of climatic and environmental changes on long timescales, recent changes of climate and environment. The workload will be announced within the lecture.
