Insight into apocalyptic thinking as a theological feature within judaean philosophical, political and theological circles in a time which seemed to be completly hopeless.

Apocalyptic thinking is present in biblical texts of the 1st pre- and the 1st postchristian century. For an adequate understanding of them, numerous extrabiblical texts must be taken into consideration as well. This we shall try in this seminary.
