Basic knowledge of Austrian history in a global context
Overview of Austrian history during the period from the 11th century up to the end of the Thirty Years’ War. The course will primarily deal with questions of political emancipation, of standards and the law, the economy and society, religion and culture. In particular, we will also include contacts to the Mediterranean region and to the region beyond the Pillars of Hercules.
