104521 UE Genomics - Practical Course
summer semester 2021 | Last update: 11.01.2022 | Place course on memo listIntroduction into human genomics
This practical course will have a wet lab part and a dry lab part.
In the wet lab part, the students will generate their own 'small' cytometic datasets from human samples, which will be analyzed manually and 'bioinformatically' in the dry lab part. Also, in the wet lab part molecular biology methods used during Next-Generation-Sequencing will be performed.
In the dry lab part, the 'easy' cytometric data will be analyzed to give an understanding of common bioinformatic tools. Also, 'big' Next-Generation-Sequencing data will be analyzed using easy tools that do not require programming skills.
practical course
Will be discussed in the first lesson.
A preliminary meeting for all optional modules of the bachelor study in biology will be held on March 2, 2020, further details will be announced in time. It is obligatory to attend both parts (lecture, course) to pass the module.
