The overall goal is to gain basic knowledge and a good understanding of the general part of Italian criminal law.

Written and oral case analysis on the most important elements of the general part of Italian criminal law.

Written and oral case analysis; discussion of the underlying theoretical components; individual and group assignments; home assignments to hand in before each unit.

Attendance, active participation in the discussions, fulfilment of homework, assessment of the written assignments.

The textbook suggested for the exam on Italian Criminal Law, together with an up-to-date criminal code. Please note: a new edition of the textbook by Fiandaca/Musco, Diritto penale - parte generale, has been published in 2019.
