Deepening of physiological principles; control mechanisms and complex interactions of physiological systems during physical activity/exercise in general and under extreme environmental conditions like cold, heat and/or high altitude; limitations of physical performance in health and disease; exercise testing
Energy supply and control of metabolism during physical activity/exercise; control of the respiratory and cardiovascular responses to exercise; mechanisms of coordinated adaptation, deadaptation and readaptation considering age and gender aspects; extreme physical strain and physical activity in extreme environmental conditions (cold, heat, altitude): control of body temperature, water and electrolyte balance, fatigue, acclimatisation, health risks and emergencies; limitations of exercise performance in athletes, sedentary and diseased subjects
