- autonomous detection and mapping of natural hazards related processes and gathering of simulation model related parameters
Aim of the field course (four to five consecurtive days) is to learn and practice mapping of geomorphological process results in high mountain terrain. In particular cryosphere and natural hazard processes like avalanches or mud flows will be considered.
The course will be held in a touristic intensively used region.
Methods for mapping and interpretation (stratigraphic ordering) of cryospheric processes will be trained as well as the detection and quantification of natur hazards related parameters.
Assessment of geomorphological map and related report
The course is recommended to students which are interested in cryospheric and natural hazard processes in high mountain areas and for students which intend to attend the natural hazards master course.
Mountaineering expirience (trackless high mountain area) as well as according equipment is mandatory.
