222023 VO Ecumenical Theology: One Church and Many Churches
winter semester 2021/2022 | Last update: 09.12.2021 | Place course on memo listThe students are able to demonstrate the time of emergence of the western confessional churches in their historical and theological connections. They can explain the history and the connections of the Ecumenical Movement. They are able to identify the most important forming powers of the Roman-Catholic Church in modern and present ages. The students can define and analyse the main issues of the current ecumenical dialogue. They are able to explicate the basic dynamics in understanding of ecumenical texts and ecumenical dialogues. They are able to describe and explain the diversity and differentiation of the own denomination.
Development of the Ecumenical Movement, Catholic principles of the Ecumenical Movement according to the Second Vatican Council, overview of the different churches and ecclesial communities (ecclesial structures and doctrine) with special regard to the Orthodox and Protestant profils; different models of unity.
