VU Management of Employment Relationships: Current Topics

Students develop necessary knowledge and analytical skills for entering a discussion on current research topics and starting a master research project in the field of managing employment issues.

The selection of topics includes:

  • Dispute resolution
  • Hybrid work systems 
  • Managing employment sustainably
  • Online labour platforms
  • Employee voice
  • Implementing HR practices
  • HRM profession

By analysing publications and participating in a conversation with the authors of these publications, students familiarize with several frameworks for studying employment relations, and acquire knowledge about relevant concepts and theories for researching a selection of recent topics. Each session starts with a synthesis of one recent publication (student presentation and is followed by a discussion with one of the authors of this publication.

Literature references for single sessions will be announced at semester start.

Successful completion of the mandatory courses referred to in § 7.2 (2 and 3).

For participating in this module, the attendance of the introductory meeting is obligatory. The preliminary date of this meeting is scheduled for Oct 18; please check for announcements of possible changes.
