winter semester 2021/2022 | Last update: 10.01.2022 | Place course on memo listThe students should know the developments in modern Qur'an studies both in Europe and in the Islamic world and elicit its effects on a contemporary Qur'an understanding.
Current approaches of Qur'an studies; the innerIslamic discourse about the Qur'anic studies in Europe and in the Islamic world. The seminar aims to introduce the participants different approaches to the Qur'an in the past and present and to enable them to establish connection between modern exegetical methods and classical interpretation of the Qur'anic traditions and to reflect classical and contemporary problems of Qur'anic exegesis on the basis of being treated texts.
The texts, which will be treated in the presentations will be announced at the seminar and shared in advance in the electronic learning platform.
