- Advanced understanding of concepts in quantum optics

- Discussion of recent problems in the field of spectroscopy of single trapped particles

- Application of quantum optic methods to describe and characterise quantum systems

Based on current problems in the field of quantum optics, experiments and their interpretation are discussed. Special emphasis is resting on spectroscopy, metrology and quantum optics based on single trapped ions.

Continuous assessment (based on regular written and/or oral contribution by participants).

Course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations"

Will be discussed in the first lesson.
