This seminar focuses on images of the city and its projects. Studying urban projects of the city, students begin to discover and understand urban entities and their characteristics. Through series of exercises, students explore different combinatorial approaches to understand how the new urban projects are emerging.
this course will take place on Friday evenings and during the day we are having scheduled reviews with each groups.

Formal Analysis of Cities
"The course introduces students to disciplinary approaches to urban design. Students learn how to read a city - its architecture, its content and its form. Form and content have mutual relations. Every form has a content and every content comes in a form. The main aim of the studio is to study various urban morphologies and their underlying socio-economical and political ideas. Students will conduct a thorough formal analysis of urban structures and learn how they are manifested in different cities. Students will learn how to read a city, develop critical thinking, acquire techniques of analysing and representing urban design ideas."
