1973 Heinz Kohut, an psychoanalyst, published his book on narcissism. 1979 Christopher Lasch followed with his publication on "The Cultur of Narcissism. American Life in an Age of Diminishing Expectations". Since then the discussion about narcissism has never stopped. On the contrary in the light of digital media and their numerous given opportunities of selfpresentation psychoanalysts, philosophers and social scientists notice an increase of narcissistic behavior and personalities as well as narcissistic pathologies. In class we will deal with different psychoanalytical concepts of narcissism, narcissistic diseases and psychoanalytical, sociological and philosophical diagnoses of our present societies and the impact on educational issues.
