Students are familiar with concepts of mediation in conflict resolution and the process of analyzing mediatorial intervention practice. They acquire an understanding of intervention as a communication process and can judge the success of this communication.

Mediation is an innovative conflict resolution process that is used not only as an alternative to litigation but also in schools, business and politics. The course introduces the basic concepts of mediatorial intervention practice and discusses competing interpretations of this practice in mediation research. In the joint analysis of mediation talks, the practice of mediatorial intervention is considered. At the same time, the relationship between theory and practice will be critically examined.
