Learning Outcome: Students acquire basic competences to determine the subject and to help answer decisive research questions of upbringing and can explain the basics of pedagogical action.

Compulsory Module 4: Scientific Theory of Educational Science and the Principles of Scientific Work (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)

Learning Outcome: Students are able to apply the basics of scientific work and to categorise scientific theories and the methodological bases of upbringing.

Learning Outcome: Students can recognise and describe the historical and anthropological bases of education and upbringing.
Compulsory Module 6: Principles of Educational Science: History and Terminology V (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)

Learning Outcome: Students can differentiate and characterise the full spectrum of institutions (from nursery school through the education of working class women to informal learning at the workplace) and the processes by which education and upbringing occur today.

Learning Outcome: Students are able to present theories and usable forms of pyschoanalysis and pedagogy and to differentiate between some special links between psychoanalysis and pedagogy in theory and practice.

Learning Outcome: Students understand the historical, political, social and cultural conditions of gender relationships, orders and differences and are able to present and to explain scientific gender in such a way that it shows evidence of professional treatment.

Learning Outcome: Students recognise the effects of organisational structures and dynamics on work in pedagogy and are able to reflect scientifically on the links between education and politics.

Learning Outcome: Students can differentiate scientifically and characterise psycho-social intervention and pedagogical treatment in the various fields of practice.
Compulsory Module 13: Principles of Educational Science: Concepts and Scope IV (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)

Learning Outcome: Students understand how to conceptualise disability as a product of social discourses which are linked with historically developed values, norms, symbols and institutions; they can also develop professional accompanying and support strategies in inclusive settings.
Compulsory Module 14: Principles of Educational Science: Concepts and Scope V (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)

Learning Outcome: Students understand pedagogical media concepts and are able to apply practical media competencies.
Compulsory Module 15: Principles of Educational Science: Concepts and Scope VI (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: positive completion of compulsory modules 1 and 4
Learning Outcome: Students are able to recognise and explain the historical, political, and cultural conditions in the construction of difference and dominance relations in the migration society and are able to work out concrete solutions from a migration society perspective.
Compulsory Module 16: Research Methods of Educational Science (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: positive completion of compulsory modules 1 and 4
Learning Outcome: Students possess enhanced knowledge of qualitative and quantative methods
Compulsory Module 17: Communication and Professional Skills III (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: positive completion of compulsory modules 1 to 6, 12 and 16
Learning Outcome: Students can explain and demonstrate action skills in the pyscho-social field and know the possibilities and obstacles of action models.
Note: the bachelor's thesis itself comprises 10 ECTS-Credits
Compulsory Module 18: Practical Research: Bachelor's Thesis (12.5 ECTS-Credits, 2 h)
Prerequisites for registration: positive completion of compulsory modules 1 to 7, 16, and either 17 or 20 or 21.
Learning Outcome: Students are able to write a bachelor's thesis using the theories and methods of educational science.
COURSES
After the allocation of free places, the module "Non-Disciplinary Skills" makes possible the completion of teaching units from other Bachelor Study Programmes and from teaching units for students of all faculties.
Compulsory Module 19: Non-disciplinary Skills (10 ECTS-Credits)
Prerequisites for registration: the prerequisites of the respective curricula do apply
Learning Outcome: Students are able to see beyond the limits of their own discipline and to enter constructively into inter-disciplinary discussions.
