222066 VO Selected Topics in Fundamental Theology: Revelation and criticism of religions
summer semester 2022 | Last update: 22.05.2024 | Place course on memo listFundamental theology as the foundation of a "theology in the signs of the times" enables students to relate the revelation of God in Jesus Christ, which is passed on in Scripture and the life of the Church, to current issues. This fundamental competence is to be practised in the context of the world-descriptive pluralism of the present, above all in the discussion with criticism of religion and atheism.
The foundation of Christian life in the tradition of scripture and tradition is not to be defended against other ideological options in the form of opposition and demarcation ("negative apologetics of superiority"), but to be taken up from within. The guiding question of the course is therefore how criticism of religion and loss of God can be integrated into the testimony of faith of the present itself. In addition to the relevant reflexive theological approaches, especially women's mysticism of the 20th century will be addressed. The philosophical justification of atheism according to John L. Mackie and the resonance theory of the sociologist H. Rosa will be important as reference theories.
Oral lecture with discussions.
