1. Gain a basic or deeper understanding of the life and work of Karl Rahner SJ.
2. Deepen their knowledge of the Biblical Scriptures.
3. Gain insights into the history of research and interpretation of the Bible in the 20th century.
4. Gain interdisciplinary experience with the connection between systematic theology and Biblical Studies.
5. Receive basic knowledge about the FWF project "Karl Rahner" and the Bible, which they may enrich in the form of research-based learning. 6. gain an insight into the history of scientific research in the 20th century.
6. Gain an insight into the academic conference culture.
We are going to read selected texts from Karl Rahner and bring them in dialogue to the Bible and to Biblical Studies in the past 100 years. There will be a conference on Feb. 25/26 2022 where you have to take part, if you want to complete the course.

- active participation in the discussion; performance of the required services

Performance assessment: The criteria will be decided at the beginning of the seminar.
Karl Rahner: Sämtliche Werke (some texts are available in English and French)
The Bible: If you want to use a non-German Bible, please contact us, to check it on quality.
none; Basic theological knowledge is an advantage
This course counts in the curriculum Diploma Programme Catholic Theology as written in the directory.
The seminar is also open for PhD students. Please contact us beforehand, so we can check where it fits your studies.
No special knowledge (for Theologians) required.
Everyone interested in the seminary is very welcome. We are going to explain all open questions and help you with basics, if necessary.
