224054 SE Exegetical Seminar Old Testament: King David: Light and shadow of his figure
summer semester 2022 | Last update: 04.05.2022 | Place course on memo listThe seminar aims at a deeper understanding of the most important King in Israel, who is presented ambivalently, and becoming more familiar with biblical story-telling and God's way of acting.
David is outstanding among the Kings in Israel's past: he is mentioned the most and receives extended narrations, he is portrayed in depth, and he has a close relationship with God. Narrative analysis will help us discover these traits in selected, important texts.
