The lecture provides students with in-depth insights into selected issues of Austrian and European intellectual property law.
Intellectual property rights promote innovation and support growth as well as the smooth functioning of competitive markets. Therefore, trademark and patent law are of substantial and ever-increasing importance for the economy. The class puts an emphasis on these two industrial property rights and focuses on the requirements for registration, the scope of application as well as legal remedies against infringements.
Presentations and discussion.
Course examination according to § 7 Satzungsteil, Studienrechtliche Bestimmungen
Will be discussed during the first session.
The course primarily aims at students enrolled in law studies, but might be also suitable for students studying at the business department.
