Getting familiar with current discussions in applied or practical ethics, specifically the possibilities (and limitations) of robust judgments on normative issues of practical relevance.
Discussion of current ethical issues of social relevance; treatment of selected topics of contemporary practical ethics with their content-related and methodological issues, including medical ethics, bioethics, business and media ethics, and the ethics of gender relations. A special focus will be on the models of applied ethics and the relationship between morality, ethics and law.
