Radical Austria, Everything is Architecture
In the lecture Architectural Theory M, Bart Lootsma discusses the continuity between the Austrian avant-gardes of the Fin de Siecle, the 1920s and those of the 1960s and early 70s. The avant-garde of the 1960s and early 70s was shaped by Viennese Actionism, cybernetics, space travel and a multitude of international influences. It was the time of radical architecture by Hans Hollein, Walter Pichler, Coop Himmelb(l)au, Haus-Rucker-Co, Zünd-Up and Salt of the Earth.
