Learning Outcome:

The aim is to get to know to most important funding programs in regional development. Furthermore, students will analyse a case study from one of these programs.

Contents:

Reducing regional disparities is a central goal of regional policies e.g. in Germany, Autria and the EU. To achieve this goal, several funding programs have been established on the national and EU level. These programs have different objectives (e.g. transformation of the energy system, cross-border cooperation, etc.). An important aspect with these programs is their effectiveness.
