fundamentals of speech act theory; knowledge and skills of pragma-linguisic analysis of different text types and contexts

While speaking or writing, we not only exchange information about subjects, objects and facts - wir carry out actions. This action with and through language can take place on different linguistic levels and (among other things) can be made visible by grammatical markers. The focus will be on the pragma-linguistic speech act theory, which will be analyzed and discussed in terms of its applicability based on different contexts. In doing so, we reveal intentions, consider the difference between "the said" and "the meant", decode ironic statements and examine the role played by the principles of politeness.
