Students gain practical knowledge for production and testing of dosage forms based on pharmacopoeia methods. Students will learn how to produce high quality medicines as possible through proper use of supplies and the combination of basic operations and assess their quality. Learning the basic principles of the formulation, obtaining the basic principles of sterile working, learning Pharmacopoeia techniques for drug delivery, learning the practical method for the preparation of homeopathic medicines, taking account of the Homeopathic and the European Pharmacopoeia application of legal principles when dealing with prescriptions and addictive substances.

Preparation of suppositories, eye drops, eye ointments, creams, gels, ointments and pastes in the pharmacy scale. Significant steps and calculations are demonstrated in small groups and implemented by each individual. Manufacture of drug extracts and preparations according to the European Pharmacopoeia (tinctures, extracts, fluid extracts), Preparation of formulations according to prescription requirements, evaluation compliant to the pharmacopoeia: suppositories, vaginal globules, eye drops, calculation of isotonicity, sterilization, sterile work, ointments, creams, pastes, gels , homeopathic preparations (globules, dilutions, mulls). Rheological investigations.

Practical exercises in the laboratory. Lectures, practical laboratory exercises, problem-oriented issues, individual and group work. Brainstorming, discussion, presentation at the seminar held in parallel. Literature research, formulation prepared on prescription according to homeopathic principles, packaging, labeling, documentation.
