Students have an in-depth understanding of robot systems. They are able to design complex robot systems and adapt them to a specific task.

Introduction to robotics with review of serial kinematics, control and path planning. Overview of essential components of robotic systems and current topics, such as grasping, force control, collaborative robotics, collision avoidance, system architecture, robot learning and AI, mobile robots, navigation, modular robots, sensing and perception, and robot operating system (ROS).

Frontal teaching of relevant technical knowledge using slides and blackboard; review of examples; computer experiments

Assessment of regular written and/or oral contributions of the participants, especially as elaboration of homework and projects.

Handbook of Robotics, Siciliano et. Al., 2016

Modern Robotics: Mechanics, Planning and Control, Lynch and Park, 2017

Robotics Vision, and Control, Corke, 2016

Simultaneous attendance of the corresponding laboratory course (PR) is recommended.
