222054 VO Doctrine of Creation, (Hereditary) Sin and Grace
winter semester 2023/2024 | Last update: 18.04.2023 | Place course on memo listThe students should be able to understand and present dogmatic content (as described below) on creation, sin, original sin and grace in existential relevance and in mutual context.
Introduction to the dogmatic treatises Creation, Grace and Original Sin in their mutual context, which is decisive for a theological anthropology:
A special emphasis is placed on the eventfulness of grace (biblically as kairos) in historical and biographical events of a (double) self-disclosure of God, which does not overwhelm human freedom, but sets it free for a radicalized self-determination of man in the face of God for eternity. Such events, if accepted, signify mercy, and if failed, judgment. Starting from a failed kairos, sin can be roughly understood as Fall of man, which radiates to humanity and whole creation. This leads to entanglements of guilt which , which in dogmatic tradition can be called original sin.
