Students acquire basic knowledge of the statistical methods used in empirical data analysis and market research methods.

Knowledge of quantitative methods for investigating central questions in political science. The aim of the course is to enable participants to conduct independent empirical analyses using the statistical software R by means of practical examples. Central topics of the proseminar are univariate, bivariate and first multivariate analysis methods, as well as the graphical and tabular presentation of empirical results.

Development, presentation and discussion of exercises and empirical case studies by students.

Assignments, presentation and a short research exposé.
