Students are aware of the interplay between audiovisual media and print media and are able to apply their knowledge in a targeted manner to practical media examples on the respective channels.

Students are able to deal with questions relating to public affairs/strategic communication. They have practical media skills for communicating with different target groups in terms of campaign management.

Public relations of organizations, associations and companies are closely related to strategic communication. Both internal and external conditions are taken into account. It is about the clarification of the current situation, the involvement of specific actors, the definition of target groups and goals and the choice of the "right (online) communication channels.  Using relevant campaigns as examples, students design their own, practice-oriented campaign concept. Thus, theoretical considerations are transferred to a practical field and substantiated.

Regular submission of interim results (time management), submission of a completed campaign concept (staying within scope, creativity, effort, realism), engagement/participation in discussions, and teamwork skills for group work. Regular attendance is required.

The minor “Media Practice” covering 30 ECTS-Credits can be selected by degree students of Master’s programmes at the University of Innsbruck, providing the relevant curriculum allows for the option to pass a minor.
