Introduction to the fundamentals of practical work in and for print or online media; key aspects: media-specific text production, text and image design, research and editorial work.

It is well known that storytelling is an important function of media. Be it films, books, games: The narrativity of media is one of the most researched areas in media studies. But how do we tell stories about or of media? What stories, what myths do we tell ourselves about them, and how do these in turn shape our ideas about media? Can media history also be understood as one of media stories? In particular, what roles do myths of origin play, such as the alleged fleeing of the audience from the train arriving on the screen at the first public film screening?
From a media-historical and -theoretical perspective, the course aims to approach various media and their narrativization.
