Acquisition of skills for a critical handling of historical sources and descriptions in Austrian History and of an adequate competence in presenting this knowledge in written and oral form

The revolution of 1848, which has almost disappeared from the collective memory today, had very different manifestations in the historical Tyrol and is accordingly remembered differently. In the course we will examine various sources from Tyrol, South Tyrol and Trentino on the revolution. These include private memories, leaflets, official statements and letters.

Discussions and practical training based on literature and selected source material; group work; short presentations by the students; presentation.

Regular attendance (course immanent to the examination with compulsory attendance), participation, presentation/moderation, several smaller written assignments, small final project and/or exam.

Will be announced in class

This LV is supported by the Department of Educational Promotion of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano.
