Central concepts, theories and debates on critical knowledge (production) and knowledge (science) research; stimulation of interdisciplinary reflection processes, identification of options and potentials for action, understanding of fundamental debates on the connections between power, violence and science.
Science is embedded in relations of power and violence in many ways. The relationship of knowledge (production) and power and violence has increasingly been discussed at universities. Nevertheless, it still affects science and universities both in their historical referentiality and in the social practices of differentiation immanent in educational institutions. The lecture seriesapproaches university as a heterogeneous place, which is characterized by multiple inequalities and discriminations, colonial continuities, gendered logics, power and domination structures, and (epistemic) relations of violence, and therefore addresses this complex of topics from an intersectional, domination-critical perspective.
After an introduction, in which a common basis of central terms and concepts is created, the connection between knowledge, universities, power and violence is discussed and worked on from different perspectives and disciplines
