Students are able to define and differentiate the terms “health”, “health tourism” as well as “sport” and “sport tourism”. They know key players of the health- and sport tourism market and are able to discuss about the variety of health- and sport tourism related settings. They are aware about the sport tourism market and its trends and are able to explain the risks and opportunities of a health- and sport tourism-related business- and destination development. Finally, they know possible occupational areas in the health- and sport tourism market.

They know key players of the health- and sport tourism market and are able to discuss about the variety of health- and sport tourism related settings. They are aware about the sport tourism market and its trends and are able to explain the risks and opportunities of a health- and sport tourism-related business- and destination development. Finally, they know possible occupational areas in the health- and sport tourism market.

In order to gain the requested skills and knowledge students need to participate actively during their classes. Furthermore students will work with home-take essays based on the relevant literature. Finally knowledge will be acquired through individual and group works as well as amongst discussion of cases in the classes.

Students will work on a group work (valid 25% of the overall grade) and will be assessed via an written exam (valid 75%) at the end of the course. The written exam will last 90 minutes and consists on MC-questions, short questions and short essays linked to actual research questions. The single questions will be evaluated with the following ratio:

Less than 60 %            failed

60 % to 70 %                      sufficient

70% to 80 %                       satisfactory

80 % to 90 %                      good

More than 90 %               excellent
