In-depth knowledge of criticism and defense of universalist accounts of normative ethics
The participants of this seminar will study the basic assumptions of ethical universalism, the most important objections as discussed today (particularism, multiculturalism etc.) and possible replies.
Interpretation of texts, class room discussions
Short papers, participation in class room discussions, final paper.
