Students have conceptual, critical-reflective and empirical knowledge about the temporal and spatial nature of childhoods and children's opportunities for action, and can record, analyze, explain and evaluate them.

Based on the fundamental tension of pedagogical demands between equality and diversity, the seminar delves deeper into the diverse and sometimes highly unequal modes of creating childhood (e.g. according to class, age, gender, disability, ethnicity) and the necessities and possibilities, but also the problems and contradictions of a 'pedagogy of diversity'. To this end, we will become familiar with corresponding theoretical concepts and empirical case studies and discuss them with regard to educational practice.
