First insights into special problems of the translation of literary texts and approaches how to find creative solutions.

Translation of different literary genres / literary text types and of expository paratexts, critics and so on with reference to literature. We will especially deal with translation problems such as metaphors, jokes, the rythm of a text, rimes and so on.

Translations done by the students individually, in groups of two or in teams will be compared, discussed and optimized in class. 

Evaluation of all assignments and interactions.

Will be announced in class.

The unit on November 25th 2024 will be canceled due to mobility. It will be replaced by a participation at a bilingual book presentation (translation project done by INTRAWI students). The date of the event, which will take place outside the usual course times on an (early) evening somewhere in Innsbruck, will be announced in time.
