The course will aim to develop general skills for literary translation.

By means of different genres, the following topics will be dealt with:

– text analysis,

– translation problems,

– translation strategies,

– translation commentaries,

– research methods.

The focus will be on an interactive approach as well as on the analysis and discussion of translation assignments, worked out individually or in groups.

The assessment will be based on a continuous evaluation of translation assignments.

Reference lists and source texts will be distributed either in digital format or in hard copy.

Students wishing to participate in the course must hold a bachelor's degree.

Electronic registration via the online study programme is compulsory for participation in the course.
