Over the course of four terms, elective modules 9. ("Additional Working language", parts a. and b.) and 10. ("Advanced Study of the Additional Working Language", parts a. and b.) will equip you with practical translation skills for Swedish-language texts and audio(visual) materials.

Ongoing language acquisition will be increasingly combined with translation exercises. We will be working with a) factual texts, b) various video genres and c) simple consecutive speeches. You will gradually be able to develop your own focus: a) specialised translation, b) audiovisual translation or c) interpreting.

This term the intercomprehension method will be increasingly applied to building up your translation competence from Swedish into your mother tongue.

Mid-term and end-of-term tests (based on the types of tasks practised in class).

Teaching materials and as well as advice on further reading will be provided by the course instructor.
